The workshop was conducted to strengthen the technical, institutional, environmental, and social readiness of the selected cities under the Maturation Phase of CITIIS 2.0, with a focused emphasis on sustainable and climate-resilient Solid Waste Management (SWM) systems. Deliberations centered on environmental and social screening frameworks, risk categorization methodologies, stakeholder engagement planning, gender mainstreaming strategies, and circular economy-based waste value chain approaches. The discussions also highlighted regulatory compliance requirements, preparation of statutory and non-statutory safeguard documents, and integration of digital monitoring and performance evaluation mechanisms within SWM projects.
